The ovarian cancer app

The European Center for Ovarian Cancer (EKZE) of the Women’s Clinic of the Charité Berlin — under the direction of Prof. Dr. Jalid Sehouli — has developed an app for patients and doctors to keep you up to date. True to the motto: “Knowledge is opportunity”, we want to increase your health literacy.

Mobile phones and their software applications have become an integral part of our everyday lives, because they offer many practical aids. This is also the case with the new EGG CANCER APP from the Charité Women’s Clinic. The first mobile community for affected women and doctors to make it easier to network in everyday life.

Especially after the diagnosis, sick people often feel lonely, abandoned and insecure. In this situation, it helps them to find out about the latest medical developments and to exchange ideas with other sufferers in order to better understand and process their own illness. However, the changes in everyday life due to illness, with countless doctor’s appointments and a pandemic, often leave little room for personal meetings. Above all, patients who cannot participate in normal life outside benefit from mobile offers — regardless of where they are.

The APP was developed by the Charité Women’s Clinic — under the direction of Prof. Dr. med. Dr. h.c. Jalid Sehouli — developed in cooperation with 8Health to enable women and relatives with cancer to have a contemporary offer. It is about the highest quality and cutting edge medical information, directly from the competence center, processed separately for those affected and for medical staff.

With the launch of the app, the first milestone has been set: “We are very pleased that we are able to offer our patients a contemporary range of services and that we can use new technologies to keep the dialogue going despite the pandemic,” emphasizes Prof. Jalid Sehouli.

Easily download the Ovarian Cancer App from the App Store or Play Store. No registration of personal data is required.
